“Hi, I’m Megha. I’m from India. I’m studying 3D animation at VanArts. I find GEC really amazing. It’s quite friendly, it’s super comforting, and the neighbourhood is really awesome. I love to go to parks because I get to see so many dogs and I love to play football. I usually go to Winona Park to play football and it’s the best time.
The staff are quite friendly as well. They are really quick at responding to our issues if we ever come across any. They’re pretty cool.”

Honestly, the fact that I can focus on my studies – it’s pretty nice. Because I’m not next to a busy road or anything, so the fact that I can focus more on my time and the studies I get to do is kind of nice.”

I like how flexible it is. I can move in anytime and move out anytime, but the community is still there and I still feel connected.”

“My name’s Kaeden. I’m from Kelowna, BC. I’ve been at GEC now for about two weeks and I go to Langara College. I was just kind of looking around the area for affordable housing and stuff like that and I came across GEC. It’s got a really nice stove, really nice oven, microwave, and I find I cook every day. I haven’t really ordered any food yet, so they’ve got everything I need.
I just thought GEC gave kind of a better opportunity for me to focus on my studies and stuff like that. It was also really nice and close to everything. I find it super friendly, everyone who’s walking around always says hi and whatever and I feel like the staff here are all very approachable. It’s just really good!”
