CIBT Beihai Receives Accreditation
CIBT School of Business & Technology Corp. (“CIBT”), a subsidiary of Capital Alliance Group Inc (TSX.V: CPT) and a leading business school in China, has been granted accreditation status for its CIBT Beihai International Management School (“CIBT Beihai”) based in Weifang city, Shandong Province, China. The accreditation status was bestowed by the Shandong Education Committee and approved by the governor of Shandong. This is a significant step for CIBT, as CIBT Beihai will become the first independent joint venture college to receive accreditation status in Shandong Province under China’s new education laws for joint ventures. The accreditation status will give CIBT Beihai the authority to grant government recognized associate degrees to its students in the upcoming school year. CIBT Beihai will also proceed to apply for accreditation status from the Shandong government for its bachelor degree programs.
CIBT further reports that overall year-end enrolment has increased by 35% from 1064 in 2003 to 1 434 at the end of 2004. “The overall increase in enrolment reflects CIBT’s continued success in building brand awareness in China and represents a favourable response from Chinese students towards our product offerings”, stated Toby Chu, CEO and President of CIBT School of Business. “Furthermore, accreditation status at CIBT Beihai will enable CIBT to expand its in-house curriculum development, which will give us more flexibility in meeting the changing needs of the Chinese education market”.
