CIBT School of Business Expands to Henan Province of China
Capital Alliance Group Inc. (TSX.V: CPT) is pleased to report that on January 18, 2007, its subsidiary, CIBT School of Business and Technology Corp (“CIBT”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with Henan Mechanical and Electrical Secondary School (HMESS) to establish joint programs between the two institutions. CIBT President & CEO, Toby Chu, attended the signing ceremony.
The goal of this partnership is to educate and train skilled technicians in the fields of mechanical processing, automotive maintenance and repair, residential HVAC maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, and other trades in China which are in high demand including business administration.
The business plan will be administered into two phases. During the initial stages of the first phase, CIBT and HMESS will work together in upgrading the current facilities of HMESS and introduce business certificate and other college degree programs offered through CIBT’s partners Western International University (WIU) and ITT Educational Services, Inc. (ITT). Specialized programs from WyoTech Technical Institute will then be introduced such as residential HVAC maintenance, electrical, plumbing and carpentry programs. A new automotive program will also be introduced into HMESS involving CIBT WyoTech Institute whereby advanced teaching equipment as well as academic material will be implemented into the cooperative program.
In the second phase, CIBT and HMESS will cooperate in a joint-venture to seek approval to offer post-secondary level vocational programs and become a Sino-Foreign Vocational School offering both secondary and college level programs based on the programs offered in stage one.
About Henan Mechanical and Electrical School:
The Henan Mechanical and Electrical Secondary School (HMESS) has approximately 6,000 students studying various course subjects including: Computer Applications, Mechanic Technology Applications, Digital Control Technology Applications, Automobile Applications and Repair, Electrical Engineering and Automation. The school is a key national level secondary vocational school and is administered under the Henan Provincial Education Bureau. In 2006, the school was named “Outstanding School in Job Placements for Secondary and Post-Secondary Vocational Education”. The school offers both secondary and post-secondary programs.
